Part of the vision at Wildwood is to reach out to the people of the Quad Cities and win them to Christ. Servanthood Evangelism is a team of people in our body that encourage and facilitate opportunities for the people of Wildwood to serve and make Jesus known throughout the Quad Cities.
As a word of encouragement relating to the challenge of servanthood, let’s consider the words of Paul in Philippians 2:3 and 5-7. In these verses he admonishes the Philippians to, “do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself.” He further states, “have this attitude in yourself which was also in Christ Jesus,” who willingly, “emptied Himself, taking the form of a bondservant…..”.
Think about it. If Jesus became a bond-servant in order to multiply His witness through intentional acts of kindness, what about us?! Shouldn’t we go and do the same?!
Servanthood Evangelism offers opportunities for everyone in the Wildwood family to serve. Here are some of recent ways the team has encouraged service to our neighbors:
-ice cream social for assisted living residents
-supply drive for gift baskets for hospitalized children
-Easter Basket food drive for needy in the community
